2020 Global Benchmarking Studies (UAS; Pedestrian Safety)
This activity includes three elements: (1) completing a GBP study on “Reducing Pedestrian Fatalities through Planning and Application of Safety Strategies on Arterial Networks”; funding international travel for FHWA team members participating in the Reducing Pedestrian Fatalities; funding invitational travel for subject-matter experts in support of implementation efforts; (2) completing a GBP study on" Unmanned Aerial Systems for Managing Transportation Infrastructure"; funding international travel for FHWA team members participating in the UAS study; funding invitational travel for subject-matter experts in support of implementation efforts for the studies initiated in 2019 and 2020; and (3) tracking and communicating GBP benefits/impacts. These activities will continue the mission of seeking and adapting foreign innovations that directly support DOT strategic goals.
