Open-source Software Suite for Intelligent Transportation Systems (OSS4ITS)
The Department has a number of development project underway that are using Agile Development practices to create open-source software with robust Communities of Practice. These include, but are not limited to, the Secure Data Commons (SDC), the Operational Data Environment (ODE), Cooperative Automation Research Mobility Applications (CARMA), and the V2X Hub. The Open-source Software Suite for Intelligent Transportation Systems (OSS4ITS) will present and integrate these open-source software projects and map available software to the physical ITS architecture. Development of the software-physical architecture, enables the government to provide the deployment community with software products that are interoperable, robust, flexible, extensible, and easier to implement and maintain. OSS4ITS will encourage integration of open-source software into existing deployments, and contribute back to the open software suite to accelerate future deployments.
