Synthetic Medical Records of Aviator Populations by Synthea

Synthea is open-source software, developed by MITRE, to generate the synthetic patient data to statistically mirror realistic healthcare records. This project aims to explore the use of Synthea to generate virtual medical datasets simulating aviator populations for aeromedical research without having to take additional precautions required when handling the personal identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI) of certificated aviators, utilizing assembled demographic data of “Aircraft pilots and flight engineers” from the US Census Bureau.
