School Travel Behaviors in Rural Communities

This project builds on the Center for Safety Equity in Transportation (CSET) research that has previously been conducted and has three specific goals: (1) to conduct an assessment of how school travel currently exists in rural communities, (2) to determine how the pandemic may have affected changes to school travel, and (3) to determine the greatest needs that currently exist for rural communities with regard to school transportation. This CSET project will also address the traffic safety culture in isolated, tribal, and indigenous communities where those opportunities are present.
