Remediating Disproportionate Approach Slab Settlements in Kansas Integral Bridges

The main objective of this project is to identify the best construction practices that minimize bridge approach settlement in integral bridges due to the near surface soil collapse. To this end, a small scale model of a typical Kansas integral bridge abutment-pile-soil system will be constructed and tested in a laboratory at K-State.
