Left-Side Delineation for Blowing Snow
Research to develop and deploy experimental feature roadside delineators to address safety concerns when snow is blowing on two-lane rural roadways. Tasks include: Survey trucking association and drivers, Develop baseline and alternatives, Literature review, as well as review current materials available on the market (3M). Select left-side delineator options and prepare request for Experimental Feature though FHWA in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for submittal by Statewide Traffic and Safety Engineer. Depending on results from previous tasks, install preferred alternatives on upcoming Dalton Highway projects. Prepare a final report that documents the efforts and findings of the research with recommended delineator.
