Forensic Analysis of Pavements Prior to Rehabilitation Decisions

Pavement rehabilitation and maintenance is a major part of state DOT programs. Many strategies are available to rehabilitate pavements, but it is critical to determine which strategies are the best suited to specific pavements. Equally important is determining when it is appropriate to conduct a pavement forensic analysis and what analytical procedures should be deployed. Aligning rehabilitation strategies with pavement and project types, as well as developing best practices for pavement forensic analysis, are critical for helping KYTC prepare better rehabilitation designs.
