Update to ACRP Report 25: Airport Passenger Terminal Planning and Design

The objective of this research is to produce a concise, user-friendly update of ACRP Report 25, through the consolidation of Volumes 1 and 2, including the methodologies cited in those volumes, by:  (1) Editing and reformatting for currency, relevancy, and usability to include, but not limited to:   (a) Terminal space requirements; (b) Aircraft parking apron and support functions space requirements; (c) Operational and maintenance support space requirements;   (d) Infrastructure requirements; (e) Planning parameters; (f) Concessions planning and non-aeronautical revenue generation opportunities; and (g) Models such as those presented in Volume 2. (2) Augmenting the report, with the following additional information and considerations, but not limited to: (a) Emerging technologies; (b) Digital transformation;   (c) Innovation; (d) Sustainability; (e) Social and cultural behavior changes; (f) Resiliency and flexibility; (g) Health and safety; (h) Safety and security requirements; (i) Elimination of touchpoints in the passenger and employee journey; (j) Accessibility and customer experience enhancements; (k) Art and green installations; (l) Development of the evaluation criteria and methodology to select a preferred alternative; and (m) Enhancements and new model functionality for the original models in Volume 2.  This research will cover the terminal area from the terminal frontage/terminal entry to the aircraft gate apron and return. This update will consider all types and sizes of airports and will reference ACRP WebResource 2: Airport Passenger Terminal Design Library (https://www.trb.org/ACRP/Blurbs/176507.aspx).
