RES2013-11: Expanding the Informational Catalog of TDOT Lower Permeability Bridge Deck Measures
Building on the success of RES2011-09 Development of a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Class D-LP (Lower Permeability) Concrete mixture, A study was conducted to expand the TDOT informational catalog of concrete mixes that have a high probability of meeting the proposed new 1200 coulomb specification. Four examples of lower rapid chloride permeability (RCP) concrete mixture designs for Tennessee bridge decks were developed and tested. All materials used in the new lower RCP mixtures are widely available in Tennessee.
