Florida ATMA Pilot Demonstration and Evaluation
The main objective of the research project is to evaluate the performance of an autonomous truck-mounted attenuator (ATMA) system based on: a. Ongoing or completed projects by other agencies that adopted ATMA; b. Actual testing of the equipment during a demonstration pilot in Gainesville, FL. The goal of this project is to produce a critical analysis report to better understand the feasibility or applicability of the autonomous system to enhance operational or safety benefit on work zones in Florida.
