HMA Pothole Maintenance Best Practices

Within Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), pothole maintenance generally falls into two categories: emergency and non-emergency repair. Emergency repair generally must occur quickly and is based on making quick decisions, while non-emergency pothole maintenance can benefit from examining all potential solutions and making informed decisions based on established best practices. This project will focus on providing guidance for non-emergency pothole repair while also assessing the current state of practice and training within IDOT.
