Analysis of Weather Conditions Causing Water Obstructions on Nebraska Roadways
The main goal of this proposal is to get a better understanding of where the water obstructions take place, as well as the cause of the obstruction in relationship to the weather conditions associated with the increased water levels causing the water obstruction. Recognizing the weather conditions responsible for the obstruction; from winter through spring with ice damming, runoff from heavy precipitation during thunderstorm activity, and water table increases in the Sandhills will be the focus of the research. In addition, the frequency of the water obstruction events will be calculated for the study period.
