Transverse Rumble Strips at Rural Intersections

Further research is needed to determine the role that transverse rumble strips have in alerting distracted/unaware/or fatigued drivers of upcoming intersections and if the lack of efficacy is more related to improper gap selection. The study should examine the placement of the rumble strips to determine how to best ensure their intended message is perceived by drivers.
