Transportation Research Synthesis: Notifying the Public of Local Road Closures via Common Smartphone Map Apps

This Transportation Research Synthesis (TRS) will study notifying the public of local road closures via common smartphone map apps. A TRS is a type of literature review that synthesizes technical and/or policy information on a specific research topic. After a brief literature search, two surveys will be sent, including a survey of all Minnesota local transportation agencies (counties and major cities) plus select cities/counties in other states, and a survey of state Department of Transportations (DOTs) that will include a modified subset of the questions from the firstsurvey, focusing on local-state partnerships.
