Transportation Research Synthesis: Is class 5 still the best on local roads?

Minnesota local agencies standardly use Class 5 aggregate base and wish to determine whether this is still an optimal practice. LRRB has requested a state-of-practice survey regarding neighboring state department of transportation experiences regarding different materials/specifications for this purpose and how these compare with Class 5. The deliverable will be a Transportation Research Synthesis (TRS) documenting the results.
