Policy and Design Guidelines to Plan for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs)
Connected and autonomous vehicles promise to dramatically alter future mobility landscapes in Illinois and beyond, and will have a profound impact. However, much is uncertain about the nature and impact of CAVs. This project will utilize four major tasks in order to develop, refine, and analyze a detailed scenario-planning framework centered on CAV impacts and then prepare corresponding policy and design guidelines to help MPOs achieve favorable outcomes.
