Characterization of the Bond Strength of Textured Epoxy-Coated (TEC) Reinforcement Bars (Phase 2)
The objectives of this research are: 1) Study the quality of the epoxy coatings bond and whether it is sensitive to the manufacturing process. 2) Investigate the effect of roughness and surface profile on the bond behavior of texture epoxy-coated (TEC) rebars. 3) Explore practical options for examining roughness of TEC rebars in the field. 4) Examine the impact of using TEC rebars on the crack patterns during curing (due to shrinkage) and ultimate stages. 5) Determine an expression for the development length of TEC rebars in flexural members.
