Evaluation of Spatial and Temporal Load Distribution in Steel Bridge Superstructures
The objective of this research is to improve understanding of three-dimensional load distribution, including time variation, in steel girder bridges through field monitoring and numerical modeling. The project will provide new knowledge about sources of girder stress that will inform future design procedures and improve safety and economy in Illinois Department of Transportation's (IDOT's) bridges.
