Allegany County, Maryland Roadway Rockfall Inventory

MDOT SHA wants to study of exposures of western Maryland's State highway system to evaluate whether certain rock units or their topographic expression play a discernable effect on precipitating rockfall hazards. The objectives of this project are to catalogue potential rockfall hazards along State maintained roadways within the Ridge and Valley Physiographic Province of Allegany County, Maryland. This inventory will include rock type, structural features, possible planes of weakness, and variously oriented photographs all collected as ESRI Collector files within a GIS database that can be accessed and added to for future revisions and record keeping.
