Updated Layer Coefficients for GDOT Flexible Design
The primary objectives of this study are to: (1) evaluate the layer coefficients of the pavement materials including Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA), Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA), Superpave Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), Graded Aggregate Base (GAB), and Soil Cement (SC) currently used by Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and provide updated layer coefficient values for those materials, and (2) develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that GDOT can use to estimate the layer coefficients when the new materials become available.
