Development of Concrete Material Property Database for Pavement ME Input
The primary objectives of this study are: (1) to develop a concrete material input database for concrete pavement design; (2) to perform sensitivity analyses of concrete mixture properties with different quarry materials from North and South Georgia; (3) to investigate the effects of various concrete properties (e.g., thermal, fresh, and hardened properties) on pavement performance; (4) to evaluate the effect of design input levels on pavement performance predictions using Pavement ME; and (5) to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that allows for Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to maintain and update the materials input library as necessary beyond the project completion. The SOP would include references to testing standards and/or protocol, timing of future testing for re-validation and re-evaluation of currently used concreting materials or initial evaluation of new materials.
