Evaluation of Different Coordinated Ramp Metering (CRM) Systems’ Performance based on Reliability, Efficiency, and Safety Criteria

This study will conduct a before-after evaluation for the Coordinated Ramp Metering (CRM) systems implemented in three Caltrans districts based on, safety, efficiency, and reliability criteria. Using field data “before” and “after” the CRM implementations, the study will determine which CRM system provides the best overall Performance for each of the three criteria.
