Exploring Social Connectivity and Transportation Needs of the Seniors through a Mobile Smartphone Application

Mobile smartphone applications may assist seniors in their mobility and connect them with the community. This project will make use of the Urban Connector, a beta version of an application that has been developed by the PI and Co-PIs to: (1) explore how seniors use the Urban Connector application through a pilot test; (2) understand and address the data privacy concerns of the senior application users; (3) adopt a metric of social network connectedness from existing literature; (5) use the metric to explore the social network connectedness of the users before and during the use of Urban Connector.
