Exploring a Rapid Test for Aggregate Qualification for 40-year Pavement Life

The specific objectives of this research project are (i) to investigate LIFS technique that will rapidly identify limestone aggregates potentially susceptible to freeze-thaw damages in PCCP and (ii) to investigate concrete samples from recent “D”-cracked pavements. Since this project will be a collaborative effort between various entities of Kansas State University and KDOT, the research tasks will be developed in consultation with the KDOT-assigned Project Monitor.
