Evaluation of the Skid Resistance of Pavements at Different Speeds
This project will examine the feasibility of developing adjustment factors that would enable ITD to utilize skid resistance data collected at speeds other than the limited speed range currently recommended for data collection. The ability to collect and utilize skid resistance data collected at speeds ranging from 20-60 mph could help improve the efficiency and safety of data collection efforts. The objectives of this project are to: 1) collect and analyze skid numbers collected at different speeds and compare the results and 2) develop correlations between skid numbers measured at different speeds to enable ITD to utilize skid numbers collected at speeds ranging from 20-60 mph.
