Safety and Operational Analysis with Mitigation Strategies for Freeway Truck Traffic in Wyoming

The project will consist of safety analysis with CMF development, operational analysis and recommendation of mitigation strategies along I-80 in Wyoming. The project will attempt to determine the measures of effectiveness for freeway truck traffic. The Principle Investigator shall develop a toolkit that will include user friendly tools for CMF and shockwave analysis, and customizable VISSIM models. Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) should obtain a complete set of roadway and traffic data collected under the existing conditions, which can be used in future projects; receive insight for potential problems and locations which impact the roadways; set up strategies that have the potential to improve safety and operations along I-80; and receive a toolkit that will include CMF, shockwave, and VISSIM models.
