Synthesis of Information Related to Airport Practices. Topic S04-21. Models for Law Enforcement at Airports

Airports of all types and sizes use a wide range of policing options: airport police, sheriff's substation, city police, county police, state police, contracted police services, and others. What are the advantages, benefits, issues, and costs of each option and how can an airport choose the most effective arrangement for its situation. Research is needed to collect data on practices used by airports to meet public safety needs and federal security requirements.
