Pavement Friction Management Program - Statewide Pilot
This proposed research would continue the development and implementation of a continuous data-based pavement friction management (PFM) program by exploring use of other important pavement characteristics and applying the program to a larger geographic region, the Corridors of Statewide Significance (CoSS) - a targeted network selected by Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) that includes 2,169 miles of divided interstate along with 4,637 miles of divided and four-lane undivided primary routes.
