Advancing Transformational Infrastructure Projects across Political Boundaries in the Northeast
This project will identify and analyze existing and proposed transformational projects that use transportation infrastructure to provide new capacity and broaden effective and more equitable transit access to a greater diversity of communities, both urban and rural. Two students will be funded to work with the project team in coordination with its Spring 2018 Transportation Studio, to conduct additional in‐depth research on the financing and political strategies, innovative procurements and permitting procedures, and project delivery approaches needed for successful project implementation. Two student research assistants will be appointed for Summer 2018, to advance the team's studio and research findings into a paper or papers that will serve as the basis for a Policy Forum to be convened in fall 2018 in Washington DC. This project will add new research to that being prepared in fall 2017 with Year 1 funding from CM2.
