Sunshine Skyway Bridge Monitoring Phase II: System Development
The objective of this project is to achieve a fully integrated Skyway monitoring system capable of providing effective maintenance and safety decision support. The objectives of Phase II are to: (1) integrate sensor and data acquisition systems and design a comprehensive web interface; (2) collect and analyze bridge response and environmental data over a one or two year period to establish typical bounds of structural behavior; (3) calibrate and refine a finite element model for use in predictive analysis; and (4) develop user manuals and implement training on the monitoring system use and maintenance.
