Prevention of Stripping Under Chipseals Phase II
Asphalt pavement stripping was identified as a major concern for approximately 60 percent of all Cities who attended the 2014 City Engineers Association of Minnesota conference and approximately one-third of the Counties that attended the County Engineers Association conference. Stripping under chip seals has caused concern for municipality staff responsible for maintaining and rehabilitating asphalt pavements. Phase 1 of this project was completed June 2016 which had three tasks: Literature Review, Field Sampling Program, and Laboratory Testing Program. Phase II consists of the preparation of draft and final reports containing the results of Phase I.
