Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Potential Evaluation

The goal of this project is to evaluate the practical Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) potential in California, key RNG production technology components and choices, benefits, and cost and barriers. A design basis for RNG demonstration plants to be built during a follow-up Phase II project will be identified and developed. The tasks are: (1) RNG potential evaluation; (2) Techno-economic evaluation of high viability RNG production projects; (3) Develop design basis for demonstration plants for key technologies and a commercialization roadmap; and (4) Education & outreach.
