Frequency and Potential Severity of Red Light Running in Anchorage

The objective of this project is to evaluate a minimum of 6 intersections during fall and winter conditions. Meet with the Municipality of Anchorage and Department of Transportation (DOT) Maintenance & Operations (M&O) staff for operations input and signal timing conditions for each location. Collect video data and as-built data for analysis. Meet with enforcement staff for input. Analyze crash data at intersections. Prepare recommendations for final report and presentation.

    • Literature Review being reviewed by Technical Advisors. 80% of data collection complete. Anticipate starting spring, 2017 analysis of RLR video capture with crash data.
