Implementation of a Localized Roughness Specification for Use on Louisiana Bridges

The ultimate objective of this research is to improve smoothness on Louisiana’s bridge inventory. A supplementary objective is to improve the benefit-cost figures associated with attaining said smoothness. More immediate objectives will be to refine and prove the bridge roughness specification so that it can be put into widespread use across the state. This will entail training said specification on a series of pilot projects, working up an implementation strategy for the new specification and developing a benefit-cost assessment on expected impact that the revised specification will have.
