SPR-4100: Maximum Allowable Deflection by Light Weight Deflectometer and Its Calibration and Verification
INDOT has established deflection criteria for compaction control of chemically modified soils, and aggregates over the modified soils. However, these criteria do not cover Type IC and II subgrades and require construction of a test section. These criteria were derived from one LWD model only. Evaluation of LWDs from various manufacturers is necessary for maintaining a quality control process. This project will develop deflection criteria for constructions in small areas for different LWD models and establish harmonized procedures for LWD calibration and verification.
