Binder Grade Bumping and High Binder Content to Improve Performance of RAP-RAS Mixtures

This research would have five major objectives: (1)) identify the effects of binder-grade bumping and higher binder content on recycled asphalt pavement/recycled asphalt shingles (RAP/RAS) performance; (2) determine the impact of these alternatives on increasing RAP/RAS contents; (3) evaluate the impact of higher RAP/RAS contents on asphalt mixture compaction; (4) evaluate the effect of blending on mixture performance; and (5) investigate the impact of RAP/RAS content, virgin binder grade, and binder content on in-situ cracking performance.
