The objective of this project is to evaluate at least two different vehicle detection technologies as applied to commercial truck parking areas of interstate rest areas. This evaluation will address several aspects: 1) the accuracy of the vehicle detection in parking spaces, 2) cost of the technology, 3) installation, setup, and maintenance of technology, 4) sensor output integration with SunGuide software, and 5) sensor durability (to the extent possible over the duration of this project).
