Cameras in Incident Management and Snow Plow Trucks
This in-vehicle camera experimental effort is being directed by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Traffic Management Division and the Maintenance Division. The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met in November 2014 to discuss a potential test run with the in-vehicle camera in snow plow trucks. Since the meeting, a camera and telecomm. equipment was placed in an Incident Management Team (IMT) truck as a pilot test. Some other states/agencies have used this type of set-up in snow plow and salt trucks for the public to be able to see current road conditions and plow locations.
