Guidelines for Evaluation of Ramp Signaling Deployments in a Real-Time Operations Environment
The objectives of this project are to: (1) Develop warrants for use to support the off-line selection of the locations for ramp signaling based on traffic flow dynamics assessed utilizing data from multiple source; (2) Develop warrants for real-time activation and deactivation of ramp signaling considering traffic flow operations at recurrent bottlenecks; (3) Develop warrants for real-time activation of ramp signaling considering non-recurrent events; (4) If determined to be feasible and useful, implement the developed warrants in a web-based tool and demonstrate its use to support ramp signaling decisions in one district.
