Develop Multi-Scale Energy and Emission Models for Arterial Traffic Systems

This research is to develop a tool for the assessment of short-term and medium-term effects of network-level, traffic flow improvement projects, including Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications, on the transportation network energy consumption and environment. This tool can be utilized to evaluate the energy and environmental impacts of alternative transportation-related projects to their implementation in the field, thus significantly reduce the energy and environmental impacts of transportation projects.
