Macro Synthetic Fiber Reinforcement for Improved Structural Performance of Concrete Bridge Girders

The objective of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of using fiber reinforced concrete to contribute to the structural performance of prestressed bridge girders. The focus will be on the effectiveness of macro fibers in the reduction or elimination of visible end region cracking after release. In addition, the use of macro fibers to improve the shear strength in the webs of prestressed concrete members will be investigated.
