Ports of Entry (POE) Study

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) oversees the Idaho Port of Entry (POE), which includes 15 fixed locations and several hundred temporary set-up locations throughout the state. This study will look at the current role of the POE, how the POE is effective in current business practices to ensure Idaho's customer's needs are met, and the technological infrastructure that currently exists as well as what needs to be implemented to maintain uniformity throughout Idaho POE. This study will be utilized to get a better understanding of where the current resources are located, how they are being utilized, and how future improvements can be utilized. Using the information provided, the Idaho POE will have a much better sense of the current improvement demand, specific technological infrastructure needs, and recommendations for future investment planning and development.
