Testing Protocols to Insure Performance of High Asphalt Binder Replacement Mixes Using RAP and RAS

Field cores were obtained from three Districts, including twelve different sections from Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT's) District 1. These sections represent a range of good and poor performing pavements which can be attributed to the properties of asphalt mixes. The objective of this task is to characterize performance related properties of these field cores including stiffness, strength, and fracture. The outcome of the testing program will enable determination of fracture related threshold values.
