Innovative Data Collection to Improve Transit Service Assessment

Mobile information technology will be used to compare travel behavior of populations with similar demographics and transit access. Tracking apps can be deployed to compare transit use, origin-destination travel times, and user experience. The results will be used to improve transit service design to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy use.
