QA/QC of Subgrade and Embankment Construction-Technology Replacement and Updated Procedures
Compaction control has been typically performed by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) using the nuclear gauge test, however nuclear gauge use will be discontinued in September, 2012. The dynamic cone penetration test (DCPT) will be used instead. The project aims to establish a reliable correlation between DCPT blow count and soil density.
