Guidance for the Use of Alternative Traffic Analysis Tools in Highway Capacity Analyses

The objective of this research is to develop materials for inclusion in the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), to provide guidance on the use of alternative models including simulation for highway capacity analysis purposes. The scope of the project will include all facility types included in the HCM. The final product of the project will be recommended revisions and additions to be included within the HCM to assist analysts in using simulation models for highway capacity analysis purposes.
