The Transportation Research Board's (TRB's) Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Synthesis 38: Expediting Aircraft Recovery at Airports includes suggested procedures to help airports expedite the recovery of disabled aircraft that are designed to avoid injury to personnel, damage to airport equipment, and secondary damage to the aircraft. For the purposes of the report, a disable aircraft is defined as on that is unable to move using its power after an excursion from a runway or taxiway.
