Research for AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways. Task 279. Development of a Work Plan for the 2nd Edition of the Highway Safety Manual

The Highway Safety Manual (HSM) is being developed through a series of NCHRP projects and with the guidance of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Task Forces on the HSM. The draft of the first edition was completed in early 2009 and after the balloting process will become an AASHTO publication. The objective of this project is to develop a work plan for the 2nd edition of the Highway Safety manual. The project has been completed. Copies of the final report have been sent to AASHTO's Standing Committee on Highway Traffic Safety.
