Transportation Asset Management Gap Analysis Tool

The objective of this research is to develop a transportation asset management (TAM) gap analysis tool for state departments of transportation (DOTs) and local transportation practitioners to facilitate their implementation of TAM. The tool should be formulated as a spreadsheet application based on the prototype presented in TAM, Volume 2 and incorporate refinements responsive to (a) requirements of Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) and subsequent Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) rulemaking and (b) institutional and technical characteristics of U.S. transportation system management practices.
