SPR-3710: Correlation between Resilience Modules (MR) of Soil, Light Weight Deflectometer, and Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD)
The Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) requires pavement design input parameters that are accurate, representing actual conditions in the field. One such parameter is the soil resilient modulus. Equipment such as the Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD) and Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) is utilized to determine the in-situ resilient modulus for pavement design. A conversion factor is needed to convert the FWD and LWD values to the resilience modulus value for the MEPDG input. The objective of this proposal is to make the conversion factor of the FWD and LWD values to the resilience modulus more accurate.
